The Casino has two sections, the first you get into as you enter is dedicated to fleecing tourists, with a more casual dress code. Further in, there is a second or inner section for the more serious gamblers which opens later in the day than the first part. You will have to pay an extra entrance fee, and a stricter dress codes applies. Does anyone know what the after 2pm dress code is for men and women in the Monte Carlo Casino? All I can find on their site is 'Correct attire mandatory. Jacket recommended after 8pm' which is maddeningly ambiguous and says nothing about women. Rick Steve's says 'During gambling hours men need to wear a jacket AND slacks. If you are going to be spending your day in the grandstands, functional attire is key. Monaco is a little more compact than other circuits but you’ll still need some comfortable shoes to get from A to B. Few grandstands at Monaco are covered, so a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen will make your time in the hot Riviera sun more comfortable. Finally, don’t forget to check the weather forecast and be prepared should rain be a possibility! Remember though, if you are planning to eat somewhere nice or go out for a few trackside drinks at night, you’ll need to be well dressed to gain entry.
Dress Like a Champion
Going to be spending time in our Champions Club at Ermanno Penthouse or La Maree Restaurant? Smart casual dress is the order of the day. In Monaco, that means a dress, skirt or pants for women and a shirt or polo shirt with jacket/blazer and trousers for men. Shorts are not recommended for men or women. In terms of footwear, men should wear closed, polished shoes and women can wear high heels, flat shoes or sandals. Leave your flip flops and trainers at home!
